12 CHALLENGES
The honest answer

Is 12 Challenges available for Android?

Short answer: not yet. The longer one is below, along with what would change that.

Why the app is iPhone only so far

12 Challenges is not a company product. I build it on my own, evenings and weekends, and it is written entirely in SwiftUI. That is Apple's own toolkit, and it is the reason the app feels like an Apple app instead of a web form in fullscreen.

The catch: none of that runs on Android. An Android version would not be a port, it would be a second app from scratch. Different language, different framework, different store, separate test devices. After that I would have two versions to keep alive side by side, every change twice over. It is doable. I just want to know that enough people are waiting for it first.

How I can tell whether it is worth it

This page counts nothing. No tracking, no cookies, no form, and that goes for the whole site. What I do see is the Google statistic: how many people search for an Android version of 12 Challenges and end up here. The more often that happens, the clearer the answer gets.

I would like an Android version

Thank you. Just being here counts. Nobody sees your click, this page sends nothing. Your search does show up in my statistics, and the more of those add up, the sooner I build the app.

What you can do in the meantime

The method behind the app does not need an iPhone. It needs one goal, 30 days and somewhere to put a check mark in the evening.

  • One goal for one month, not five at once
  • 30 days, then it ends and you know whether it worked
  • One check in the evening, that is the whole job
  • A few missed days are built in: from 85 percent the month counts as done

A calendar on the wall or a notes app does the job perfectly well. The app makes it easier and works out the percentage for you, but it is not the method. How that works in detail is on the method page. And if what you are missing is the goal itself, there is a library of 72 ideas for 30 day challenges, across sport, health, mind and home.

If an iPhone is within reach: the core features are free for good, with no subscription, no ads and no account. One tap a day is all it takes.

Common questions

Is 12 Challenges available for Android?

Not right now. The app runs on iPhone only. An Android version is neither finished nor in progress, it sits on the list waiting for the demand to show up.

Will there be an Android version?

Possibly, but nothing is promised. I deliberately give no date, because I could not keep one. The decision comes down to how many people ask for it.

Is the app on the Google Play Store?

No. 12 Challenges is not on the Play Store, and there is no official APK file to sideload either. If you come across one under that name, it did not come from me.

Is there a web version in the browser?

Not that either. The app keeps everything locally on your device, with no account and no server, and that is close to impossible to rebuild in a browser. A web version would mean sign-ups, servers and your data sitting with me. I would rather not.

What does clicking the button here actually do?

Honestly, nothing I could count. The click stays in your browser, the page sends nothing to me. What counts is the search you did before: I see that in the search statistics, and it is the whole reason this page exists.
